I do lots of maths like integrals and derivations. How about you?

A whole lot of statistics – linear regression, mean, mode, standard deviation and so on

I do a lot of simple stuff, volumes, angles and engineering.

Sometimes I do rock mechanics, I need help with that. Luckily I have friends at work who are a lot better at math than I.

I don’t do that much maths anymore – I used to do in my previous work, but I now do lots more qualitative research – that means we don’t use numbers like in quantitative research, but we analyse the things that people say instead. In the trials I work on we tend to have a statistician (someone who is an expert in maths) to do the maths. You don’t have to love maths to be a scientist!
